Resumen:
Medical devices produce vast volumes of information on a daily basis, which can be processed and stored on a large scale. This paper discusses the design of a real time biological signal and vital signs transmission and storage system that can be integrated to an Electronic Health Record system. Technical requirements and available transmission and storage technologies for multiple simultaneous multi-parameter monitors are explored. An architecture is proposed using the distributed streaming platform Apache Kafka and the NoSQL MongoDB database, which was tested with successful results.
