Germinación de Aspidosperma polyneuron Müll. Arg., luego del secado y el almacenamiento de las semillas

AbstractAspidosperma polyneuron Müll. Arg., is a native specie of valuable wood from the Atlantic Forest. Proposed for the restoration of degraded areas, but its seeds are not normally available for propagation in commercial nurseries. Dispersed during the spring and dried at 7% humidity, it germinates with percentages higher than 70%, losing its viability before 60 days. Using different containers, moisture contents, storage temperatures and times, the seeds with 3% of humidity in hermetic glass containers and 7ºC, kept the viability for 18 months. Seeds also maintain viability when stored in paper and plastic bags in plastic boxes and 7°C.
