Resumen:
Myrocarpus frondosus Allemão Fabaceae, is a native specie of valuable wood from the Atlantic Forest. Proposed for the restoration of degraded areas, but its seeds are not normally available for propagation in commercial nurseries. Dispersed at the beginning of summer and dried at 12% humidity, it germinates with percentages higher than 70%, losing its viability before 60 days. Using different containers, moisture contents, storage temperatures and times, the seeds with 4% of humidity in hermetic glass containers and 7ºC, kept the viability for 18 months. Seeds alsomaintain viability after being dehydrated with silica up to 2% moisture content.
