Resumen:
During menopause, hormonal imbalances lead to a loss of bone mass and a weakening of the bones. This unhealthy condition is often faced with hormonal therapies, although there is evidence that physical therapies may help to improve the strength of the skeletal system. This research work aims to explore the effects of changes in routine physical activity on bone health during this stage of life. A computational model of bone remodeling applied to the femur is used to achieve this goal. Results suggest that a decrease in physical activity impairs bone condition, whereas an increase provides more benefits the earlier the change in routine is applied.
