Resumen:
We propose a protocol based on spatial mode splitting followed by particle detection to generate W states starting from an initial pure state of three indistinguishable fermions exhibitingcorrelations purely due to antisymmetrization. Interestingly, we also show that our protocol cannot be used to generate a generalized GHZ-type state, which highlights the fundamentaldifferences between the two types of state. Our results have implications for the generation of multipartite entanglement in systems of identical particles and suggest new avenues for theexploration of the role of indistinguishability as a resource for quantum information processing.
