Resumen:
Large Scale image-based flow velocimetry techniques experienced a huge development over the last years. The purpose of this work is to introduce a new affordable, practical and user-friendly toolbox (RIVeR) for Large Scale surface flow velocity analysis of streams such as rivers, channels but also large physical models. The toolbox uses the results from conventional 2D Large Scale image-based flow velocimetry techniques (LSPIV - Eulerian frame of reference), and Large-Scale Particle Tracking Velocimetry (LSPTV - Lagrangian frame of reference) rectifying them instead of rectifying the draw images first, which reduce dramatically the computational cost. RIVeR is fully operational and has been already used in many applications with extreme conditions such as streamgauging during flash-flood events and low water level where conventional tools used are not able to measure.
