Resumen:
In this study I look at the methods and tactics that a worker center uses to mobilize day laborers while at the same time subsist as an organization. Drawing upon the literature on framing in social movements and organizational theory (Benford and Snow 2000; DiMaggio and Powell 1983; Hannan and Freeman 1977; Meyer and Rowan 1977; Snow and Benford 1992; Snow, Rochford Jr, Worden, and Benford 1986) I examine the case of a Latin American Workers' Center where the radical rhetorical goal of worker mobilization and the need to subsist as an organization converge. The data shows that the mobilization discourse is mainly used to attract new members but protest work at the Latin American center is almost inexistent.
