Resumen:
Diversity in Argentina?s state institutions is generally understood regarding all the diversities of sex characteristics, sexual orientations, and gender identities (MMGyD 2022). Religion, culture, ethnicity, race, place of origin, or disabilities are rarely considered. Put differently, policies that sought to include and promote diversity and inclusion were not considered across race and other intersections (such as ethnicity or religion). Furthermore, indigenous groups, which make up a large portion of the population, have been historically invisibilized (Gordillo & Hirsch 2003), so if indigenous "do not exist," state policies do not include them. Thus, state institutions consider diversity in connection to gender in general terms.  What happens in policing institutions? This article seeks to examine diversity, equity and inclusion programmes, and policies in Argentina´s federal policing institutions. Furthermore,we identify existing and potential barriers to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Exploratory research questions include: What diversity programmes do police institutions have? How do policing staff and agencies define diversity, equity, and inclusion? What barriers(organisational and others) to DEI can be identified? Based on the findings, what is the impact of these programmes on a more democratic and inclusive society?
