Resumen:
In tumor development and maintenance of a cancerous phenotype, bidirectional communication between epithelial cells and stromal environment is necessary. We recently demonstrated that human adipose tissue around kidney tumor (hRAT), showed a differential protein expression profile respect to adipose tissue from normal kidney (hRAN). In the present work, we evaluated proliferation, apoptosis and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers in histological sections of different human kidney tumors (hRT). The tissue explants were obtained from patients with tumor kidney (hRT, n=14). Surgically removed kidney tumors presented different Fuhrman grade (from F1 to F4) depending on each patient. The Fuhrman grade is a pathological classification system and a predictor of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) prognosis. The expression of PCNA, caspase 3, Bax, Bcl-2 and vimentin was evaluated by immunohistochemistry in kidney tumors. Statistical differences among the groups were evaluated by one-way ANOVA with Tukey´s post hoc tests. We observed a positive correlation between Fuhrman grade with Bax/Bcl-2 ratio and a negative correlation with Caspase-3 expression (p
