Resumen:
Mate Marote is an open source cognitive-training software aimed at childrenbetween 4 and 8 years old. It consists of a set of computerized games specifically tailored to train and evaulate executive functions (EF): a class of processes critical for purposeful, goal-directed behavior, including working memory, planning, flexibility, and cognitive control. The spacing effect in learning is well known. However, the effect of distributed practice on cognitive training has never been tested. In the present study we show that children performance in the executive function (EF) tests obtainedin controlled school environments with their own teacher are enhanced when children had played spaced versus massive designs, one session a week during two months.
