Resumen:
Acinetobacter baumannii is a nosocomial pathogen of significant concern mainly due to its remarkable capacity to persist in hospital environments and evolve resistance to multiple antimicrobial agents. Most concerning, infections caused by this bacterium constitute a major problem in intensive care units, where A. baumannii is the causative agent of hard-to-treat infections that resist most currently available antibiotics and result in increased mortality.
