Resumen:
Introduction and objective: Physical activity intensity and sedentary behavior could promote or prevent risk factors in cardiometabolic diseases. The aim of this study was to analyze the association between physical activity and sedentary behavior and cardiometabolic risk factors.Materials and methods: observational and correlational study. Participated 117 patients, both sexes, over 35 years old, attended at the Non-Invasive Cardiology Division of the National Hospital of Clinics, Córdoba, Argentina, during 2014-2016. A validated international physical activity survey (IPAQ) was applied to determine physical activity grade (low, moderate and high), physical activity energy expenditure (PAEE), and sedentary behavior. Cardiometabolic risk factors: nutritional status, waist circumference (WC), systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure and serum lipid profile (total cholesterol, HDLc, LDLc and triglycerides) were evaluated through clinical history. Stata v.11 was used for data analysis. T-test was applied for independent samples. Results: mean age was 61±1.43 years old. About physical activity, the average was 240±116.44 MET-min/week, sedentary behavior was 360±37.82 min/day, and PAEE was 1388.31±600.26 Kcal/week. A significant association between sex and BMI (p
