Resumen:
The detection of gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are harmful to humans, animals and the environment is an area of material science in constant development and a great research effort is being made to obtain sensitive materials. Several types of materials transform the variation of their physico-chemical properties, in the presence of gases/VOCs, into a measurable signal. Metal oxide semiconductors are potential chemical sensors, which have become mass-use for their large field of application, their small size and their simple manufacturing. In addition, they have a high sensitivity (detect very low concentrations), operate in a wide temperature range and possess long durability. The system Cr2−x Tix O3 is a solid solution with corundum structure (0.01< x
