Resumen:
The present study reports the catalytic activity and stability of Mn?Ce catalyst with low Mn content in the soot combustionreaction. Through X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Laser Raman Spectroscopy (LRS), and Temperature-ProgrammedReduction studies (CO-TPR), it is inferred that the Mn/(Mn + Ce) ratio = 0.1 allows the formation of a solid solution betweenMn and Ce oxides with high catalytic performance. This formulation was structured over ceramic papers to conform catalyticceramic papers. These structured fibrous catalysts presented high catalytic stability after several cycles of the soot combustionreaction and they prove to be highly active in the reaction of interest. Their catalytic performance under different oxidationconditions was also evaluated by varying the NO and O2proportion in the gas feed. The NO content in the gas feed considerablyinfluenced the catalytic performance and the reaction order with respect to this oxidant was ca. 0.3. The activationenergy was found to be 14 kcal/mol.
