Resumen:
This paper presents a constitutive model valid for Low and Ultra Low-Cycle Fatigue. In the case of Ultra Low Cycle Fatigue only plasticity effects are taken into account, while for Low-Cycle Fatigue both damage and plasticity effects are considered in the non-linear con-stitutive equation thru a simultaneous integration of both processes. The approach presented here is an energetic approach where the energy dissipated at each cycle is monitored and to-tal failure is considered to have occurred when the entire fracture energy of the material has been dissipated. This enables the model to account for highly irregular cyclic strain ampli-tudes like those characteristic for seismic loads.
