Resumen:
The procedure to evaluate the damage of reinforced concrete structures subjected to seismic actions, described in reference [l J, is enabled in this paper to take into account viscous effects, thus allowing dynamic damping to appear.The structural model is used within a finite element frame, a Newmark-type tangent incremental time integration scheme is detailed and finally, a global damage index, based on potential energy, is developed. Numerical examples, obtained using this new approach, are compared with those included in [l].
