Resumen:
In the present paper a constitutive model for the analysis of composite materials, based on a generalisation of the classical mixing theory, is described. This approach implies for an automatic fitness on the composite?s properties using each component?s properties and taking into account its topologic disposition in the overall behaviour. Therefore it is possible to represent composites which components participate upon various possible combinations of serial and/or parallel behaviour. Moreover, a general elasto-plastic constitutive law is considered to describe each compound (Lubliner, Oliver, Oller, and O?nate 1989; Oller, Oñate, Miquel and Botello 1994; Oller, Oñate, Oliver and Lubliner 1990). This possibility demands for a suitable treatment of the classical mixing theory by using a mixed formalism (Neamtu 1995) which implies for a compatibility equation to describe the deformations field, more general than the older one (Truesdell and Toupin 1960).
