Resumen:
In this paper an algorithm to simulate the dynamic behavior of frames subjected to wind and seismic loads and incorporating friction energy dissipators is presented. The frames are modelled as 2-D MDOF systems. The algorithm consists of a staggered modi¯cation of the linear acceleration method. The results got with this algorithm are compared to those obtained with the software package ADINA. Agreement is satisfactory. Initial results show that the friction dissipators signi¯cantly reduce the response of the structure.
