Resumen:
The use of composite materials in structures has greatly increased during the past few years. This trend is mainly due to the fact that composite materials have properties which are verydifferent from conventional engineering materials. However, the study of this mechanicalbehaviour of composite materials when are submitted to finite strain behaviors in an inelastic field is complex, mainly due the presence of the diverse phenomena, which can happen as a combination of several failure mechanisms. In this work, a numerical procedure for large strains analysis of fiber reinforced compositematerials is presented. This procedure is based on the serial/parallel mixing theory, whichdeduces the composite behavior from the constitutive equations of its components, and itallows to consider the interaction between them. Details of the numerical implementation ofthe serial/parallel mixing theory into a large strain finite element solution scheme areprovided. Two application examples showing the performance
