Resumen:
A new plastic formulation named as ?Barcelona plastic damage model?, based on the formulation originally developed by Lubliner et al. (1989) and Lee and Fenves (1998) has been developed to characterize the behaviour of steel under monotonic or cyclic loading: the model is capable of predicting the material failure due to Ultra Low Cycle Fatigue (ULCF). This is achieved taking into account the fracture energy dissipated during the cyclic process. This approach allows the simulation of ULCF in regular cyclic tests, but also in non-regular cases such as seismic loads.
