Resumen:
The skin of anuran amphibians is a hugesource of bioactive compounds, among which are peptides. Their isolation, identification, and characterization have led to the development of therapeuticagents with several applications in human health. In Alzheimer´s disease (AD)the inhibition of Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and Butyrylcholinesterase (BChE)represent the only symptomatic treatment. AChE also plays an important role inthe formation of β-amyloid peptide (Aβ) deposits, increasing the cerebraldamage in the AD. On the other hand, Aβ aggregates lead the production ofreactive oxygen species, oxidative stress, and cell death. Thus, the use ofantioxidant agents could be useful to delaying or preventing this disorder
