This project to investigate the potential for biological control of the alien invasiveAlliaria petiolata (garlic mustard) in North America was started at CABI?s centre inSwitzerland in 1998. Four weevil species are currently being studied as potentialbiological control agents: the two shoot miners Ceutorhynchus alliariae and C.roberti, the seed feeder C. constrictus and the root miner C. scrobicollis.
