This document has been developed in the context of the IT Leadership and Coordination Project, part of the 2009/2010 project portfolio carried out by UNU-IIST under the e-Macao Program Phase II. The main objectives of the project are (1) to analyze the IT leadership and coordination needs of Macao Government agencies; (2) to design and administer training and educational programs to address some of these needs; and (3) to link Macao SAR with international communities of experts in the area of senior and executive technology education such as the International Academy of CIO.This report represents one of the deliverables of the abovementioned project. It contributes to achieve the third project objective; in particular linking Macao SAR with international communities supporting the IT leadership function in government.This report provides policy recommendations for strengthening the local community of government IT leaders and the presence of Macao SARG in international forums promoting and supporting the IT leadership function in government. These recommendations are based on the records of collaboration between Macao SAR Government and international organizations interested in supporting the IT leadership function, particularly the International Academy of CIO (IAC) and Waseda University (WU).
