Resumen:
This paper describes a homogenization model for evaluating the effective elastodynamicproperties of acoustic metamaterials in problems involving wave propagation. Themethodologyisbasedondeterminingtheconstitutiveequationsintermsofaveragedquantitiesobservedatthemacroscale.Inthissense,theapproachfollowsverycloselythepioneeringideasintroducedbyWillis,and afterwards,followedbyseveral authorsinthelasttenyears.Thedistinctivecharacteristicofourapproachisthatwewritethemicroscaleequationinthespatialdomain.Themodelisvalidatedwithpreviousresultspublishedintheliterature,andourresultscopythemalmostexactly.Theresultinghomogenizationmodelcouldbeusedasanadditionaltoolforthetopologydesignofacousticmetamaterials.
