Resumen:
The detection of congenital Chagas disease in the first hours after birth and subsequent monitoring of patientsare critical for successful treatment in vulnerable populations. This scenario demands modern tools such as mobilePOC assays. Here we present smartphone-based reading and data management for a recently developed ELISA testdetecting a specific IgM. An Android app was programmed for different tasks, notably image processing andintegration to server, database, and patient surveillance systems. At the present phase, results obtained with realsamples demonstrates that our method is satisfactory, as compared against the spectrophotometric gold-standard.
