Resumen:
Mosquitoes (Diptera: Culicidae) of the Yacyretá Dam area, Argentina. The checklist of mosquito fauna found in 12 localities that represent different biotopes of Corrientes and Misiones provinces along the left side of Paraná River (54o 45 S, 26o 33 O, and 57o 16 S, 27o 29 O) is presented. The mosquito samples were monthly taken from 1993 to 2001. Over 80.000 mosquitoes were captured with CDC traps, on human bait, and by dipper and pipette as immature stages. A total of 17 genera, 27 subgenera, and 113 species were identified. One hundred one species were identified from Misiones province, 23 of them are recorded for the first time. Two of them, Cx. (Mel.) rabelloi and Cx. (Phe.) corniger, and the genus Onirion are recorded for the first time for Argentina. Sixty-five species were recorded from Corrientes province, 12 of them correspond to new records for the province
