Struggles on the constitution of environmental territories in the Paraná River Delta (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

As a specific type of governmentality, environmentality occurs through the simultaneous constitution of environmental territories and environmental subjectivities. Last year, we presented a paper analyzing the constitution of environmental subjectivities in the Paraná River Delta (Argentina). Complementary, our aim now is to analyze the struggles on the constitution of environmental territories in the Forestry Core Area of said region. Through a long-term fieldwork and ethnographic techniques, we will show how it has been environmentalized and became the wetlands. However, we will also show how local inhabitants (who refer to their place as the island) contest it through both explicit and hidden forms of resistance.
