Scientists at Scripps Institution of Oceanography are working with Antarctic tour operators to enable travelers to serve as citizen scientists. Guests collect samples of phytoplankton from fjords along the western Antarctic Peninsula to help determine what sustains the base of the polar food web and to understand how it may be changing over time.
