The aim of this joint communication is to share the following topics related to our research: 1) Pandemic in Latin America: an overview regarding the main situation and debates on violence and rights, in different fields (political and institutional violence,gender, youth); 2) Two case studies: women´s rights and institutional violence; 3) Dimension of violence / authoritarianism; and 4) What these cases tell us: about the relationship between violence, rights and authoritarianism/political regimes. Challenges specific to the cases during the health emergency. Finally, lessons learned and conclusions.
