Resumen:
When used as a single agent in the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) All-transretinoic acid (ATRA) results in short remission duration whereas ATRA followed by intensive chemotherapy has been associated with prolonged remissions in newly diagnosed APL. We evaluated the antileukemic efficacy of a protocol in which ATRA was used followed by intensive chemotherapy. Clinical hematologic evaluation, molecular follow-up analysis and survival studies were performed.
