Resumen:
In 1928 Walter Benjamin declared his ambition to "take up the legacy of surrealism". He pictured himself exercising "al the powers of command of a philosophical Fortinbras" in order to movilize the legitimate energies of surrealist's aesthetics for his own critical work. By historizing and contextualizing "Dreamkitsch", Benjamin's first essay on Breton, Aragon and Eluard, this study explores his tentative to reconstruct the surrealist vision of a modern mythology, incorporating it into his own theory or "historical illumination". The result is a interpretative framework wich attemps to make sense of what appear, on first sight, to be contradictory and paradoxical impulses within Benjain's early characterization of the Arcades Project as a dialectical fairy scense.
