Resumen:
Hemorrhagic fever viruses (HFV) constitute a heterogeneous group of RNA enveloped viruses including agents of severe emerging infectious diseases such as dengue virus (DENV) and the arenavirus Junin (JUNV). JUNV is responsible of Argentine hemorrhagic fever, whereas DENV is the agent of the most prevalent arthropod-borne viral human disease, with increasing global emergence in the last decade producing about 50 million annual cases of dengue fever and 250,000 cases of the life-threatening dengue hemorrhagic fever. Since no specific and safe chemotherapy is currently available, the search for antiviral compounds against these viruses is a demanding effort. In the present study, a series of novel acridones were synthesized and evaluated against DENV and JUNV. geneous group of RNA enveloped viruses including agents of severe emerging infectious diseases such as dengue virus (DENV) and the arenavirus Junin (JUNV).
