This paper focuses on the hidden history of the origins of the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights (IACHR), which interestingly was created in 1959 in the aftermath of the Cuban Revolution, and the process leading to the final exclusion of Cuba from the OAS in 1962. This is a preliminary paper and work in progress within a much broader research project on the ?Cold War origins of human rights in the Americas.?
