Resumen:
Mite parasitism in vertebrates may decrease their survival so it is of great interest to resume the study of tick species of lower economic and health importance. This paper aims to present three cases of parasitism that are the result of casual encounters in terrestrial vertebrates in the province of San Juan. In one of them, we mention the first case of ectoparasitism caused by a mite belonging to the family of night lizards TrombiculidaeHomonota underwoodii ( Matuasto ); and two cases of an ectoparasite argasidae parasitizing a South American small mammal Graomys griseoflavus ( common pericote ), and an amphibian Bufo arenarum ( common toad ) . The records of this research are mentioned in two previous publications and we emphasize the observation of the ectoparasite in the lizard Homonota underwoodii as the first record in Argentina. To conclude, we highlight the first records of ectoparasites in the province and also the studies on distributions and new hosts.
