Resumen:
Our participation in the VVV survey (VISTA Variables in the Vía Láctea) gives us a great opportunity to study the distribution of galaxies, obscured by the presence of the Milky Way. This survey includes observations in five near-infrared passbands of the bulge and part of the disk of the Galaxy. This work was part of Laura Baravalle (Trabajo Final de Licenciatura) and it consists in the analysis of the d115 TILE looking for extended objects. We take into account the star-galaxy separation and we obtain photometric properties of extended objects. As a first step, we also perform a visual inspection of the field. We find 205 extended objects that are candidates for galaxies. Our main goal is to automatically detect these extended objects and to separate them in a photometric way. We analyse different regions in the Color-Magnitude and Color-Color Diagrams.
