Resumen:
The catalytic behaviour of vanadium antimonate catalyst during partial oxidation of toluene in vapor phase is studied. Solids with 20% of Sb or V substituted by Ti were prepared by solid-state reaction. These samples were characterized by TPR and DRX techniques. The replacement of antimony or vanadium by titanium do strongly affects the redox properties. The partialy sustitution of Sb by Ti improves the catalytic performance in selective oxidation because an efficient redox system is achieved, which provides high mobility of oxygen to reconstruct the activity of the catalyst. On the contrary, the opposite behaviour was found in catalyst prepared by substitution of V by Ti. It is suggested that the couple V4+ is a reoxidation site
