Resumen:
Small heat shock proteins (sHSPs) are chaperones that play an important role in abiotic and biotic stress tolerance. The special importance of sHSPs in plants is suggested by their unusual abundance and they are found in different cellular compartments. Furthermore, some sHSPs are also expressed during certain stages of development. The identification of DNA motifs in gene promoters as transcription factor binding sites (TFBS) has been one of the most extensively studied topics not only for its biological significance but also for its difficulty in bioinformatics research. There are numerous bioinformatic tools to analyze gene promoters, but there is no consensus on the methodology used to detect TFBS. Previous findings allowed us to identify tomato sHSPs induced in red fruit compared to green fruit in normal and after cold treatment condictions4. In this study Solanum lycopersicum and Solanum pimpinellifolium were used as model plants. We perform an in silico strategy for analyzing the regulation of sHSPs gene expression through gene promoter sequence analysis from 18 sHSPs with different subcellular localization.
