Resumen:
Cognitive impairment is a frequent feature in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), with prevalence rates ranging from 40 to 65%. Some studies suggests that coding of verbal information is impaired, while learning of visuo-spatial information is considered to be spared. However, divergent studies have found evidence of impairments in both coding and storage of visual information. Beyond these mixed results, none of the previous studies explore in full detail the possible relationship between executive functioning and memory impairments. The objective of the present study is to assess the relationship between visual and verbal memory impairments and executive functions in relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis patients.
