A set of empirical equations was obtained in order to correlate the equilibrium data of ternary systems containing two pairs of partially miscible liquids when binodal band type curves are present. This set resembles those of Othmer and Tobias or Hand, etc., but it permits to obtain the equilibrium composition of the three components of both conjugate phases of the tie lines without know the binodal curve. This is possible because it includes both the equilibrium compositions on a solvent free basis. The proposed method was tested on several systems described in the literature, obtaining good agreement among experimental and calculate values. On the other hand, another set of empirical equations was obtained for the line joining the two critical solution temperature of both partially miscible binaries, with the calculate plait point of the two separate binodal curves, and with the saddle point of the ternary binodal surface. The parameters of both sets of equations were obtained with only a few experimental data points.
