It has been investigated the impedance polarization behavior of the platinum black electrodes in contact with different concentrations of colloidal suspensions of polystyrene particles. All the measurements were performed at 25 ± 0,1 ºC, in the frequency range of 10 Hz to 10 MHz, using an Impedance Analyzer HP 4192A and an acrylic cell with flat 15 mm diameter electrodes and variable spacing ranging from 0.5 to 10 mm. The volume concentrations of the colloidal suspensions were in the 5% to 38% range. Finally, the polarization resistance and reactance of the electrodes were analyzed in order to determine their dependence on the concentration and conductivity of the colloidal suspension and both on the frequency of the applied field.
