Análisis estructural de la falla Castillejo-San Agustín en el límite austral de la Sierra de Mojotoro, Salta-Argentina

Structural analysis of Castillejo-San Agustín fault in the southern limit of the Mojotoro range, Salta-Argentina. Castillejo-San Agustín fault coincides with the boundary between the Eastern Cordillera and Calchaquenia geological provinces. The structural analysis was performed through a structural section and palinspastic restitution. This enable to determine an area whit a recurrence of at least three tectonic events. First, during Paleozoic this fault exhumed slightly more deformed basement unit, then in upper Cretaceous a normal faulting was developed along this weakness zone. Finally, during Andean compression this structure was partially inverted forming a harpoon structure in the Castillejo range.
