Resumen:
We present the study of the oxidation at 530nm LED excitation of 9-anthraldehyde with photochemically synthesized colloidal Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) or diamond supported Au nanoparticles (AuNCDs). Visible irradiation of the plasmon band of AuNCDs in an acetonitrile solution of 9-anthraldehyde saturated with oxygen results in formation of oxidation products. This reaction doesn't occur in the dark or without the gold nanoparticles. It also can be inhibited in the presence of nitrogen. An enhanced oxidation activity has also been observed with AuNCDs. We further examine the ET driven catalysis of colloidal or supported Au nanoparticles with millisecond real-time resolution FLIM system to observe the time resolved radical cation formation through electron transfer (ET) between 9-antrhaldehyde and AuNCDs.
