Resumen:
In this work, a device that allows controlling the energy of a laser is presented. The developed system can be adapted to control the writing energy beam in a micro-machining station with femtosecond laser pulses. This technology is widely used for the manufacture of integrated photonics devices. The proposed control system was fully integrated on a robust base and holding brackets manufactured by 3D printing. It uses polarization based optical filters mounted on a motorized rotation mechanism and is electronically controlled with Arduino. In particular, the system consists of a feedback control of the proportional and integral type. The control parameters were tuned, first t hrough s imulations b ased o n t he Z iegler-Nichols method, and later adjusted experimentally in the plant. Throughout this work the used methodology is described, as well as analyzing the device performance.
