Sexual morality, intimacy and gender in infantile ruling in Argentina (1886-1921)

This presentation is part of my doctoral research on women who committed infanticide in theprovince of Buenos Aires at the time that the Argentinian Penal Code was being formulated. Theperiod that I study spans from 1887, the year in which the first National Penal Code was approved,to 1921, when a new Code that unified penal legislation was implemented, inaugurating a newphase in the history of penal law that continues up until the present day. Here, I intend to present mypreliminary findings and reflect upon some of the issues that arose throughout the process of thesystematizing and analyzing the judicial documents of some of the cases considered by the courts tobe ?infanticides?.
