Resumen:
The attractive properties of Al-Ni intermetallic phases (IPs) and their extensive field of technological applications demand a thorough understanding of them. The features of Al-Ni system [1] are the reason for the high-temperature strength of Ni-based superalloys, such as thermal stability, high corrosion resistance and high strength to density ratio [2]. The Transient Liquid Phase Bonding (TLPB) is a technological process that can be applied to manufacture new pieces and to perform reparations. TLPB deals with the simultaneous growing of intermetallic phases as a multilayers (ILs), in the interconnection zone [3, 4]. This study is focused on the characterization of the intermetallic layers formed in the interconnection zone. In pure Al-Ni system, a split of AlNi phase is observed around equiatomic composition, resulting in Al-rich and Al-poor AlNi sides with same crystallography but differences in mechanical properties. Similar behaviour is observed in AlNi phase multicomponent system. Additionally, nano-precipitates were detected in AlNi grains.
