A contribution to the checklist of fishes of San Luis province, Argentina

Resumen:
San Luis province presents arheic andendorheic basins that are poorly understood in termsof their ichthyological composition. The samples takenrecently from the main basins of this province haveyielded data of undisputed biogeographic value for theknowledge of the ichthyofauna of San Luis, as well asfor drawing up lists of species for watersheds withpoor or absent previous records. Here, we cite Jenynsiamultidentata from the Desaguadero and Bebedero rivers,Cnesterodon decemmaculatus for Chorrillos River, andOligosarcus jenynsii for Luján, Quines and Quinto rivers.We add five taxa to the Nogolí River that have not beenpreviously reported. We also present for the first time alist of the fish fauna from the Conlara, Luján and Quinesbasins. Our results provide 34 new records of freshwaterfish distribution.
