Resumen:
The phase equilibrium data of methanol + ethanol + isooctane systems were obtainedat 303.15 K. Data for methanol + ethylbenzene+isooctane were taken from literature. The effect of the addition of ethanol onthe system equilibrium has been investigate as the same temperature. Thedistribution curves for ternary and quaternary system was analysed. Ternaryexperimental results were correlated with the UNIQUAC and NRTL equation. The NRTLequation is more accurate than the UNIQUAC equation for the ternary systemsstudied here. The equilibrium data of the three ternary systems were used todetermine interactions parameters for the UNIQUAC equation. The UNIQUAC equation fitted to theexperimental data is more accurate than the UNIFAC method for this quaternarysystem.
