Resumen:
The study of size effects in manganites remains as one of the challenges of the condensed matter field. As an example, the behavior of the magnetic domains when they are constrained to dimensions of the order of their size (microns) is up to now poorly understood. During the last months, our group has developed a method that combining electron beam lithography and wet-etching allows to build nanostructures starting from bulk oxide thin films. In this work we present an electrical transport study of micro and nanowires of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 ranging from 0.1 um to 100 um of width. While the resistivity at zero field and the high field magneto-resistance remains unchanged when the width of the stripes is varied, the low field magnetoresistance features can be tuned by changing the wires width. All this experimental evidence strongly suggests that mechanisms of domain pinning are ocurring at the submicron scale.
