Resumen:
Since the discovery of superconductivity in magnesium diboride (MgB2) a lot of efforthas been done to understand and improve their superconducting properties. The lowcost, light weight and the highest critical temperature (Tc 39K) make this material anexcellent candidate to replace the Nb compounds in the development of technologicalsuperconductors. The improvement in the critical current density of superconductorwires made by the powder-in-tube (PIT) method, demonstrate the great potential ofthis emerging superconductor for various practical applications, such as magnets formagnetic resonance imaging (MRI), power cables, motors, energy storage systems, generators, magnetic separators, transformers, etc. In the contrary of the well knownHigh Tc superconductors, this material does not present the weak link problem andit is not necessary to get a good crystallographic alignment of the grains. However,it was found that the Jc depends on the texturing in MgB2 tapes. In this work wewill present a Rietveld analysis of the MgB2 core tape for different deformation ratioand composition. We will discuss the correlation of anisotropy in Jc and Hc2 with thetexturing of different analyzed samples.
