Motivation and Objectives:- Solve the failure problem of heterogeneous materials using a variational consistent RVE-based multi-scale fomulation.- Consider micro or mesoscopic models with softening materials: microcracks, shear bands, microvoids, etc.- To obtain a macro mechanical response with cohesive cracks being RVE-size independent (objective) for the complete load history (pre-critical and post-critical).
